WHAT IS
WINTER RETREAT?
Winter Retreat is a weekend for connection. You’ll encounter Jesus in community with hundreds of students across Indiana and Illinois. You’ll have a blast with your newfound family of friends, hanging out together and dreaming about what God wants to do on your campus. You’ll see your faith come alive in a new way and catch a vision for how God is inviting you to follow him during your time in college and for the rest of your life. Come find your community and discover God’s calling for you!
The vision of InterVarsity is to see lives transformed, campuses renewed and world changers developed. We long to see a witnessing community on all 150 colleges and universities in Indiana and Illinois. We hope that you join us for a life-changing weekend at Winter Retreat!

Christy Gates
Christy Gates is InterVarsity’s National Director of Scripture Engagement. Christy first joined InterVarsity as a student at Marquette University, then came on staff at Purdue Northwest, and then served as an Area Director in Chicagoland. She is passionate about giving every person a chance to investigate the Bible for themselves. She directs a team of ministers who equip InterVarsity staff and students to lead Bible study and help people meet God in Scripture together. In her spare time, Christy enjoys biking, soccer, and video games. She lives in Taylor, Michigan, with her husband Marvin, stepkids John and Maya, and cat Raven.

How do I get there?
Fall Retreat is located in Carlinville, IL. We'll be at the Lake Williamson Christian Center 17280 Lakeside Dr., Carlinville, IL 62626. Your best bet is to drive to the retreat with friends. If you don't have access to a car, talk to your InterVarsity staff worker to help arrange transportation.
How much does it cost?
You can register with a $30 non-refundable deposit.
If you register before 11:59pm CST on January 26, you'll lock in the early bird rate of $175.
After January 26 until 11:59pm CST on February 9, you'll pay the regular rate of $200. After February 9 you'll pay the late rate of $225. Rate includes housing, all meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Rate does not include transportation to and from the conference or other meals, so coordinate with the friends you're traveling with or work out a transportation plan with your InterVarsity staff.
I can't pay for it...what should I do?
Don't let money keep you from coming to Winter Retreat! We have scholarship money available to help you make it work. Talk to your InterVarsity staff about scholarships that may be available, or if that doesn't work, contact our registrar using the email form below. We'll work with you to make a way!
What if I have to cancel?
You have until the day of the retreat to cancel if needed. Unfortunately, the deposit is non-refundable, but if you've already paid your full balance, we'll be glad to refund the rest.
How does housing work? Can I choose my roommates?
Housing will be on twin bunk beds (regular size twin). Every room will be filled with 6-12 people of the same gender, from the same campus as far as possible. If you have a specific request or particular needs, just use the contact form below to get in touch with our registrar.
When should I arrive? When will we be done?
Plan to arrive no later than 6:30pm on Friday so that you can get registered and settled. Our first session starts at 8pm. We'll wrap up by 12:30 on Sunday.
What precautions are being taken due to COVID-19?

If you have COVID-19 symptoms in the days leading up to Winter Retreat, please take a COVID test. If your results are positive, follow the CDC’s isolation guidelines. If that means you won’t be able to attend, contact us. We will refund your payment minus the deposit.

If you think you have been exposed to someone with COVID in the days leading up to Winter Retreat, please follow the CDC’s exposure guidelines.

People may choose to mask at any time. We will have masks onsite for those whose masking preferences might change upon arrival.

We will have COVID-19 rapid tests onsite. If someone displays symptoms onsite, we will have them test for COVID-19 and send them home if they get a positive result.

ALUMNI &
MINISTRY PARTNERS
We are inviting all alumni and ministry partners to register and attend as Winter Retreat participants. It will be a great weekend to rest, study Scripture together, connect with each other, in addition to hearing what God is doing on campus through InterVarsity and partnership as we look at ministry with GenZ students.
Cost is $216 per person, childcare is not provided.
