Encuentro 2024 is hosted by InterVarsity LaFe. A Latino Fellowship for college students of every background in Indiana & Illinois. At Encuentro, we will explore our shared and individual identities, and discover how our faith influences our lives on campus, our families, and every other part of our lives.

Gathering our familia is such an essential part of who we are. At Encuentro you’ll find yourself surrounded by a familia of students across Indiana & Illinois. This kingdom familia at Encuentro is one you will not want to miss out on. YOU have a place at the table, come. Let’s spend some meaningful time in community while we grow and laugh together.
Alabanza
Our diverse backgrounds allow us to worship in a variety of ways and our unique stories influence how we worship. We want to be able to provide you with the space to worship God, the one who blesses us all. Come dance, sing, paint and pray. Familia, let’s give praise to our Rey.
Acción
We are a familia that mobilizes towards action. God has given us the Spirit that enables us to use our voices and experiences to impact the places we are at. Meet Your Speaker
Moy Mendez is the Executive Director of the Hope Center and Area Director for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, serving graduate and faculty in Chicago. The Hope Center is a non-profit focused on community economic development, where he leads strategic initiatives in the area of agriculture, technology, and auto mechanics. With over 25 years of experience in leading teams, Moy has a proven track record of launching and transforming organizations into high performing teams. He holds an associates degree in computer programming, bachelors degree in pastoral studies and a masters degree in philosophy of religion and currently pursuing an MBA. In his spare time, Moy enjoys reading and taking nature walks with his wife and 4 kids and dog.

FAQ
How much does it cost?
If you register by 11:59pm on October 13th, you'll pay the early bird price of $40. If you register after October 13th, you'll pay the regular price of $65. This cost covers lunch, dinner, and conference costs.
I can't pay for it...what should I do?
Don't let money keep you from participating at Encuentro! We have scholarship money available to help you make it work. Talk to your InterVarsity staff about scholarships or contact our registrar using the email form below. We'll work with you to make a way!
When does this start? When will we be done?
Encuentro will begin Saturday, November 2nd at 11AM CST and end at 7PM CST the same day.
We will begin with lunch and end with dinner.
How will I get there?
Your staff worker can help you plan transportation, including carpooling with other students from your campus or surrounding area.
What precautions are being taken due to COVID-19?

If you have COVID-19 symptoms in the days leading up to Encuentro, please take a COVID test. If your results are positive, follow the CDC’s isolation guidelines. If that means you won’t be able to attend, contact us. We will refund your payment minus the deposit.

If you think you have been exposed to someone with COVID in the days leading up to Encuentro, please follow the CDC’s exposure guidelines.

People may choose to mask at any time. We will have masks onsite for those whose masking preferences might change upon arrival.

We will have COVID-19 rapid tests onsite. If someone displays symptoms onsite, we will have them test for COVID-19 and send them home if they get a positive result.
