What is Vision Conference?
Vision Conference is a weekend where we come together to remember how Jesus has shown himself to be Good News for peoples of African descent, given the specific spiritual and systemic injustice issues we face today. If you need God to refresh and rejuvenate your soul with a time of re-connection, support, good Word and good worship, this is the conference for you!
Derekah Kingery is our Director for Vision. She graduated from Millikin University in 2016 and has been the Campus Staff Minister there since. She loves working with college students, Harry Potter (she's a Hufflepuff!), and playing board games with her husband and friends. She can't wait to see how Jesus will speak to us all at Vision!

FAQ for 2020
How do I get there?
The conference is located in Joliet, IL on the southwest side of Chicago. We'll be at the Holiday Inn & Suites at 1471 Rock Creek Blvd Joliet, IL 60431. Your best bet is to drive to the conference with friends. If you don't have access to a car, talk to your InterVarsity staff worker to help arrange transportation.
How much does is cost?
You can register with a $25 non-refundable deposit. If you register before 11:59pm on January 15, you'll lock in the early bird rate of $99. After January 15, the total cost goes up to $115. Cost includes hotel, lunch and dinner on Saturday. Cost does not include transportation to and from the conference or other meals, so coordinate with the friends you're traveling with or work out a transportation plan with your InterVarsity staff.
I can't pay for it...what should I do?
Don't let money keep you from coming to Vision! We have scholarship money available to help you make it work. Talk to your InterVarsity staff about scholarships that may be available. If that doesn't work, contact our registrar using the email form below. We'll work with you to make a way!
What if I have to cancel?
Just don't : ) But if you must, you have until the day of the conference to cancel if needed. Unfortunately, the deposit is non-refundable, but if you've already paid your full balance, we'll be glad to refund the rest.
How does housing work? Can I choose my roommates?
Housing is assigned as you go through registration on-site. Every room will be filled with four people of the same gender, so plan to go through the registration line in groups of 2 or 4 to be housed together. Groups of 3 usually cannot be accommodated. If you have a specific request or particular needs, just use the contact form below to get in touch with our registrar.
When should I arrive? When will we be done?
Plan to arrive no later than 6:00pm on Friday February 21 so that you can get registered and settled. Our first session starts at 8pm. We'll wrap up by noon on Sunday February 23.
I have more questions!
No problem. Just fill out the contact form below and we'll be happy to help!
