What is Encuentro?
Encuentro 2021 is hosted by InterVarsity LaFe Latino Student Ministries for Latino college students of every background to gather together, explore our shared and individual identities, and discover how our faith influences our lives on campus, our families, and every other part of our lives.

Sonalia Ramirez
I’m Sonalia a Puerto Rican-Mexican American who has been on staff for 3 years a Northern Illinois University. I enjoy working with Latino students to help them on their faith walk and their ethnic journey. As a student I led LaFe bible studies and events. My desire, as a LaFe staff, is that YOU would come and join us for Encuentro to allow God to meet you personally and communally and of course to have fun!
Jenny Galindo-Sanchez
Hello friends, my name is Jenny, I graduated from Northern Illinois University and came on staff to work with Latinx students in Chicago such as the University of Illinois at Chicago. My current favorites things are playing Among Us, watching the Masked Singer and going on walks at the park with my puppy Joey and my husband Horacio!
Familia
Gathering our familia is such an essential part of who we are. At Encuentro you’ll find yourself surrounded by a familia of students across Indiana & Illinois. This kingdom familia at Encuentro is one you will not want to miss out on. YOU have a place at the table, come. Let’s spend some meaningful time in community while we grow and laugh together.
Alabanza
Our diverse backgrounds allow us to worship in a variety of ways and our unique stories influence how we worship. We want to be able to provide you with the space to worship God, the one who blesses us all. Come dance, sing, paint and pray. Familia, let’s give praise to our Rey.
Acción
We are a familia that mobilizes towards action. God has given us the Spirit that enables us to use our voices and experiences to impact the places we are at. As we praise God and grow as a communidad, we are always asking Holy Spirit what’s next? Join us to become the movement of Latinx students your campus needs.

FAQ
How much does is cost?
It only costs $10! This covers the cost of programming and care package.
I can't pay for it...what should I do?
Don't let money keep you from participating at Encuentro! We have scholarship money available to help you make it work. Talk to your InterVarsity staff about scholarships or contact our registrar using the email form below. We'll work with you to make a way!
When does this start? When will we be done?
We will start gathering virtually at 6pm CT. We will end Saturday evening at 8:30pm CT. Saturday we will begin at 9am CT and end at 6pm CT. We have a number of breaks planned throughout out time together.
Will this be recorded?
We will record the General Sessions. If you do not want to be recorded, feel free to mute your sound and turn off your video. We will not record the small group discussions.
